Stark contrasts startle the senses, 

the revealed and the mysterious

paired together,

exporting dissonance.

Praise and scorn,

love and hate,

joy and sorrow,

peace and pain,

defeat and redemption,

life and death,

the reviled and revered,

notes on a page,

words in a book,

images on a wall -

but monochrome all the same.

It resonnates with us,

is reflected by us

and lives within us.
