Fall

Fall Breezes
Fall breezes are blowing,
the old man is near –
and as leaves settle quietly
I‘m devoid of all fear.
Fall breezes are blowing
as I take in the sound
of His voice moving swiftly
between the branches and ground.
Fall breezes are blowing
and I’m singing a tune -
how enchanting it is
to take a long walk with you.
Fall breezes are blowing,
the symphony’s here –
each part playing sweetly
during this time of year.
Fall breezes are blowing
and my soul’s filled with joy,
recalling days past
when I played as a boy.
Fall breezes are blowing
and my memories are full,
of a town by the river –
yes, I still feel its pull.
Fall breezes are blowing
and it’s my time to go,
leaves blanketing paths
before the white winter’s snow.
