Trusty Steed

My trusty steed

it knows me well,

through travels and time

both traversed nobly,

sheltering steadfastly

as weather pounds it's shell.

Windows and wheels,

doors and dashboard,

crankshaft and carseats,

brakes and battery,

CV joint and CD player -

doing their part as days conquer days.

More than mere parts or pieces 

for there contains within it's casing

a soul

not easily detected -

truly known only to me.

And as rain and snow mix

with sunlight and shadow

my trusty steed remains,

waiting for the call.
