Nestled quietly in Appalachian hills,
surrounded by bigger and noisier brothers,
she exists quietly,
content letting the crazy world pass by.
Her aged wrinkles
protect her flock tenderly,
sheltering still hollows.
She is proud, loyal, majestic, and true -
but only locals know this.
She is the land of
She is home to babbling brooks and raging rivers.
She bursts with colors of every description,
and settles into sleep more peaceably than her siblings.
Of the many places I have stepped,
my home lies in
wild, wonderful West Virginia.
